Cold Texting is when someone sends an SMS to a recipient who did not opt-in or agreed for you to message them. In other words, you are sending an SMS to someone who did not want to receive a message from you. This breaks TCR guidelines, carrier guidelines, and Phone System messaging policy. If you have not received explicit consent to message someone via SMS, do not message them. Those found cold messaging may not be approved for increased sending limits and are at a high risk for SMS Suspension

Toll-Free numbers tend to have lower open/pick-up rates when compared to Standard local numbers. This is not typically an issue when the customer is expecting to receive a text from you.
Toll-Free Numbers:

- more likely to be approved
- no registration costs
- no sending limits
- restricted to specific area codes (800, 833, 844, 855, 866, 877, and 888)
Standard numbers are more complicated to register, less likely to get approved, and come with a small cost (we cover the costs in most cases).
Standard Numbers:
- require a valid Tax ID
- use local area codes
- registration costs apply (small)
- limited messages per day (<6000) without a larger plan
